Depression: Through the Pain

You CAN make it through the pain.

A Safe Environment

on May 22, 2013

Good morning, friend!

I’ve been thinking about you and want to know that you’re safe.  Are you being abused in any way?  If you are, you need to REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THAT SITUATION.  No relationship is worth being abused.  If you are a Christian woman and are concerned about submission, remember that a husband is “head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.”  Was Christ abusive to His followers?!?  Of course not!!!!  If your husband –or boyfriend, wife, girlfriend, brother, aunt, uncle, ANYONE—is abusive, you have no obligation to remain.  For your own physical and mental health, PLEASE GET OUT!  There are organizations, friends, relatives, and/or school counselors who will help you.  Take advantage of these resources.

DON’T LET ANYONE TREAT YOU LIKE GARBAGE.  You may not be with someone who treasures you at this moment.  But know that you are precious in God’s eyes.  “Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”  (Luke 12:6-7)  YOU ARE PRECIOUS AND LOVED BY THE GOD OF THIS UNIVERSE.  What greater love is there than that?

As you start healing you will form healthier relationships.  YOU’LL GET THERE.

Keep gathering a few magazines for Friday, and don’t forget to write the three things you’re grateful for in your gratitude journal tonight!  STEP BY STEP, YOU’LL GET THERE.

Blessings, Elizabeth
