Depression: Through the Pain

You CAN make it through the pain.

Feeling Crazy

on May 31, 2013

Good morning!

When we spoke yesterday, I mentioned that people who have never experienced major depression might think the use of imagery is “crazy”.  (It’s not!)  You know that you’re NOT crazy, right?  YOU ARE NOT CRAZY, though depression can sometimes make you feel that way.  You may not be well right now, but YOU ARE NOT CRAZY.  If anyone tells you that you are or implies it, chalk it up to their ignorance about depression.  I don’t care if it’s your mother, father, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, or best friend.  I don’t care if they think that they are experts in the field of psychology.  Anyone who would tell you that depression or anxiety makes you crazy is dead wrong.

If you are the one telling yourself that you’re crazy, STOP IT.  Be kind to yourself.

I don’t know what your background is or what’s happening in your brain chemistry, but I DO know that there is a reason you are experiencing this depression.  Probably a combination of reasons.

YOU ARE NOT CRAZY, EVEN IF YOU FEEL THAT WAY.  Remember, FEELINGS CAN BE DECEPTIVE.  Listen to what feelings are telling you, but don’t let them lead the way.

I’ll be back on Monday.  YOU’LL MAKE IT THROUGH THIS!

Blessings, Elizabeth
