Depression: Through the Pain

You CAN make it through the pain.

on June 5, 2013

Good morning!

Now is the time to give up your fear of sharing your thoughts and feelings with others.  You don’t want to pretend to be someone you are not.

You may have been raised to keep your internal life bottled up.  Or maybe you learned it in a later relationship.  Well, NOW IS THE TIME TO UNLEARN IT.  You can blame the person(s) who triggered your squelching response, but how much better it is to focus on changing this self-defeating habit!  Blaming will keep you chained to the past.  Skill building moves you to a better future.  You will feel stronger and more alive as you tackle this issue.

You can expect to get a reaction if you don’t normally express your opinions—change always evokes a reaction of some sort.  That’s okay.  It takes time for people to adjust to change, but everyone will get there.  You will be more honest, and others will respect you for that.

Of course, you don’t want to beat people over the head with your words or say them at inappropriate times.  And you never want to say things that are mean and hurtful.  You’ll learn  as you practice this skill.

THROW OFF THE CLOAK OF DECEPTION!  You don’t need it anymore. Now you can begin to live free.  This will go a long way in accomplishing your recovery. YOU’RE GETTING BETTER ONE STEP AT A TIME.

I’ll be back tomorrow.

Blessing, Elizabeth
